Weather update: Today, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heatwave conditions in specific areas of Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand.

In Uttar Pradesh, IMD has stated that isolated pockets are very likely to experience heatwave conditions on June 6, and some parts may face severe heatwave conditions from June 7 to 9.
Yesterday, Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh recorded a temperature of 46 degrees Celsius, followed by Rewa in Madhya Pradesh at 45.6 degrees Celsius, Rohtak in Haryana at 45.3 degrees Celsius, Palam in Delhi at 44.4 degrees Celsius, Sriganganagar in Rajasthan at 44.4 degrees Celsius, and Ludhiana in Punjab at 43.1 degrees Celsius, according to IMD data.

Regarding rainfall predictions, the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Mumbai has forecasted a generally cloudy sky with the possibility of light to moderate rain in the city and suburbs. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 35 degrees Celsius and 29 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The Regional Weather Forecasting Centre (RWFC) in Delhi has predicted a partly cloudy sky, along with a dust storm, thunderstorms, very light rain, and strong surface winds for the national capital today.

In Karnataka, the Meteorological Department (MeT) has predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers in various districts including Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Bagalkote, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Koppal, Raichur, Ballari, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapura, Chitradurga, Hassan, Kodagu, Kolar, Mandya, Ramanagara, Tumkur, and Vijayanagara.

IMD has also issued an orange alert for heavy rains in Konkan and Goa on June 8 and 9, Madhya Maharashtra and Coastal Karnataka on June 9, and Assam and Meghalaya on June 7 and 8.

The weather office has further predicted isolated to scattered light to moderate rains accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) over Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, and Chhattisgarh.
